April Quarterly Meeting

Please join us on Tuesday, April 12, at 6:30 pm for our April Quarterly Meeting. We will meet as usual at Messiah Lutheran Church in Knoxville, TN. 2016 Membership Renewals should be paid by that meeting.

The program for the April 12th Quarterly meeting will be given by Bailey Earith of Bailey Fiber Art Studio of Knoxville.  Bailey Earith is a mixed media fiber artist and teaching artist.  As an artist-in-residence, she presents a variety of classroom projects and permanent installations to K-12 students.  These projects often highlight the creative use of recycled materials.  Most of her artist residencies take place in the rural Appalachian communities of Tennessee.  Using her Occupational Therapy skills, she specializes in teaching academics through art to children with disabilities.  As a studio artist, she creates contemporary fabric art that has visual and/or actual textural elements.  These elements often include beads, vintage buttons, feathers, hand painted and manipulated fabric, yarns and found objects.  Her art is eco-friendly utilizing recycled and repurposed items as much as possible.  She has art work in collections around the world.  She has been published extensively in magazines and books for her innovative work in the studio and as an artist-in-residence.  She is proud to be a VSA and TAC artist roster member and is associated with the Knoxville Arts and Culture Alliance.  She will be bringing items of her work to share with us.
