In addition to the chapter-wide meetings, Knoxville EGA has multiple interest groups that meet monthly in various locations. A non-member is allowed to attend two meetings before becoming a member. Members may be part of as many interests groups as they choose.
Interest Groups
Please note that below schedule is general, and individual meetings may shift location, date, or start time. It is best to guests to contact us through EGA’s Facebook page prior to attending an interest meeting
Bead Buddies: All levels of beading. We have a monthly project which is basic to intermediate. 4th Tuesday of month. Messiah Lutheran Church*. 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Blount Needles: Beading, cross stitch, and a variety of other needlework techniques. 3rd Monday of each month. Blount County Library, Maryville. 1:00-4:00 p.m.
Canvas: All levels of stitching. Some members do canvas work while others bring projects that could be cross stitching, surface embroidery or any other embroidery technique that they enjoy. 1st Wednesday of each month. Messiah Lutheran Church*. 10:00 a.m.-noon
Clinton Pearls: Cross stitch plus other needlework arts such as tatting, beading, and crocheting. Clinton Public Library. 3rd Saturday of the month from Noon – 1:30 p.m.
Concord: All levels of stitching. Concord is a group of stitchers who enjoy all sorts of needlecrafts. We participate in some group projects and support EGA outreach programs. Many stitchers bring their current project to work on. 3rd Monday of each month. St. Elizabeth’s Church, Farragut. 10:00 a.m. – noon.
Fiber Arts: 3rd Thursday of month. Messiah Lutheran Church*. Starts at 10:00 a.m.
Sampler: Cross stitch or surface embroidery projects. Stitchers mainly bring their own projects but occasionally group projects are offered. Projects can be stitcher’s choice and are not required to be a sampler. 2nd Thursday of the month. Messiah Lutheran Church*. Starts at 10:00 a.m.
Smoky Mountain: All levels of stitching. 3rd Wednesday of the month. King Family Library, Sevierville. 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
Thread Ed: All levels of stitching. This group explores various stitching techniques to learn, share and experience together. 3rd Tuesday of the month. Messiah Lutheran Church*. 6:00 p.m-8:00 p.m..
Twilight Threads: All levels of stitching and beading. For those who prefer an evening meeting in the Knoxville area, we’re it! We represent all levels of ability and do individual and group projects–some free style, some counted, and some beading. We also support the outreach projects (e.g., bookmarks for libraries and ornaments for Fantasy of Trees.) We have done some free style, hardanger, cross stitch and pulled thread. 1st Tuesday of the month. Messiah Lutheran Church*. Starts at 6:00 p.m.
West Knox Day: West Knox Day is a group of stitchers of all levels of embroidery genres. This group mainly works on their own project of any type, but occasionally group projects are offered. 4th Tuesday of the month. Meets at members’ homes. Starts at 10:00 a.m.
Where Stitchers Count: All levels of stitching. If you live in Loudon, Monroe or West Knox Counties, WSC is an active interest group of stitchers who enjoy all sorts of needlecrafts. We participate in some group projects (beading, cross stitch, pulled work, quilting, and other techniques) and support EGA outreach programs–making bookmarks for local libraries and ornaments for the Knoxville Fantasy of Trees. We encourage members to bring show and tell every month and enjoy learning and sharing old and new stitching techniques. Any month we do not have a group project, members bring their current personal project to work upon. 4th Monday of each month. Tellico Village Chota Rec Center. 10 a.m.-noon and maybe lunch afterward.
